I am a full time artist. I use brush, carving knife, camera lens and other tools for my work. I create art that tells a story, that moves, that seduces.

Elements of traditional techniques and materials in new contexts are the recipe for my brew and through that hopefully recognized for its uniqueness. If I can create a dialogue with the viewer, using images from life in all its facets, I am content.

Aloha From Maui!
I love your blog. Thee is so much info here. You are using your blog as a regular website. I love this newer concept.
I linked to you.
PLEASE show your whole face to us.
I think it is interesting tha you refer to your images as a recipe for your brew. I am feeling the same these days — this is why I am starting to call my newer images “Digital Cocktails”,
Visit me in Maui soon!

Aloha back to you, Randy!
Thank you for your kind words and for the link.
I put up a photo my partner made this year while I was working. I always feel very inept being photographed myself although I love to photograph other people.
Guess if I had one of those wonderful “hawaiian faces” it were different…
I’d rather be recognized through my work - that’s why I choose the head of my favourite sculpture “Putri Dedes” as an avatar.
Btw - I am using my photoblog only as a playing tool - the more “serious” stuff is on my other blog “Images and Imaginations” and on my official website http://www.vyala-arts.com/

I found your blog today and I found a lot of what you wrote here to be very interesting and I definitely will be back. I have added you to my blogroll and wondered if you would like to check out my art blog and do the same.
