It was beginning of December and we were cycling along one of our older routes, it was cold but the sun was shining. Not really expecting something worthy to give it a shot with the camera, something sparkling caught my eye while cycling along. It was a field where some cabbage was left, it was all wet and muddy but I definitely had to get near.
The dew on the leaves was sparkling and that was certainly something to consider.
Well – I don’t own one of those marvellous DSLRs with an even more marvellous macro lens but only a Fuji cam with an inbuilt macro but nevertheless it was worth the try.
And this is the result. Technically not perfect, because resolution is not really good enough for shots like these. But I try my best with what I have got and am happy nevertheless with the results. I like these images because they show how beautiful a simple cabbage leaf and its “embellishments” (the dew drops) can be. And this is what it is all about – isn’t it? You don’t always need the best and the most expensive equipment. There are more than enough people out there who own that already. The challenge is to see what’s in front of you and grab the opportunity. Exactly that does equipment NOT guarantee…
