Wasps as Textile Designers

I am always amazed again and again what beautiful tissue designs are created by insects. These are the remnants of a huge wasp nest my sister had on one of her windows. It was extremely interesting to see how these insects built the nest layer by layer.

Now only these pieces are left – backlit by the sun…
