Missed my own Anniversary

Can you believe this? I missed my own anniversary of this photo blog. Things are getting out shape – duh

Now why I am keeping a photo blog at all while I have so many other blogs with photos as well? I think people in general do not like to be “switched” from one subject to another, having to read a lot of text while they expect to see rather images. So the original idea was to keep photos for fun and enjoyment strictly separate from all the other stuff that I like to write about art and art related subjects.

Photography at the moment is not my main occupation – it rather “serves” as inspiration and additional tool for my art projects. I also do neither own the equipment one would expect from a professional who earns his/her decent living from photography nor do I possess all the technical knowledge that would be expected from a professional photographer. I know bits and pieces and can look back on a lot of experience while photographing since 40 years but there is so much more to learn about photography and its technical background.

As a painter and sculptor I do know more about the composition of an image or a sculpture, about colours, light and shadow and although I have been juried into photographic exhibitions I consider myself as a photographic artist rather than a professional photographer, with a big love for photography, catching moments of pure joy with my little camera lens.

And I am the happiest person when you like what I want to share here….
